Our next book is Still Life by Louise Penny
Do you love a good mystery? Do you enjoy some intelligent crime detection? Do you like quirky characters? Have you ever wondered what it is like in a tiny Canadian town in the autumn?
If any of these apply to you, you should take part in our next book club to discuss the brilliant Still Life by Louise Penny. It follows Chief Inspector Armand Gamache - who has so much kindness and integrity it hurts – and his edgy sidekick Guy Beauvoir as they investigate the murder of a local artist in the tiny town of Three Pines.
I challenge you not to be made hungry by the food descriptions, not to want to make friends with any of the residents (including rude and grumpy Ruth), and not to want to live there forever - despite the oddly high crime rate…
Read a great crime novel and come for some lively conversation and delicious refreshments.
Open to all the Kingswood Community
Refreshments will be provided.
We look forward to welcoming both familiar and new faces.
If you’re someone who loves reading, this evening is for you, but equally, if you’ve been meaning to read more, or feel a little nervous about joining a book group, please don’t be. There’s no pressure to be an expert or to speak at length; listening, sharing a little (or a lot!), and enjoying the company are all equally welcome. And in our busy lives, ebooks and audiobooks are just as respectable as physical copies.
