SUPPORT KINGSWOOD

KINGSWOOD 275 CAMPAIGN

2023 saw us celebrating the 275th anniversary of Kingswood with one element being the Kingswood 275 fundraising campaign.

The focus of the Kingswood 275 Campaign has been to raise philanthropic funds to be able to offer greater numbers of bursary awards to young people who have the potential, but not the financial means, to access a Kingswood education.

IGNITING POTENTIAL THROUGH KINGSWOOD BURSARIES

We know – and hope you all agree – that coming to Kingswood is an extraordinary experience. We are proud to see our pupils develop into compassionate, confident and enthusiastic young people, ready to make a real difference to the world.

Transformational bursaries not only impact the lives of recipients, but also their families and wider networks – we also know from experience that these students contribute to what makes Kingswood such a special place.

Although the anniversary has now passed, our campaign continues: by donating to our Transformational Bursaries programme, you can enable more young people to experience a Kingswood education, supporting them reach their full potential and make their own difference in the world.

LEAVING A LEGACY TO KINGSWOOD

Another way of donating is by leaving a charitable gift in your Will to Kingswood – and in doing so, creating an impact that will extend beyond your lifetime.

A charitable bequest allows individuals to consider giving at a higher level than they may have been able to during their lifetime. Currently, a legacy gift can be exempt from inheritance tax if it falls beneath a particular threshold – giving in this way also has the potential to reduce the tax burden on your family, while maximising the benefit of the gift to the school. As a registered charity (No: 309148), Kingswood School pays no tax on gifts it receives and qualifies for Gift Aid on eligible donations.

In order to appropriately recognise and thank those supporters who have made the decision to include Kingswood School in their Will, the 1748 Society has been established, specifically for legacy pledgers. Members are invited to various events, including an annual 1748 Society lunch.

Legacy gifts are a particularly significant gesture, and we are extremely grateful to the many members of the Kingswood School community who have already joined the society by remembering the school in their will.
