Old Kingswoodian News |
The Old Kingswoodians returned to the Upper to play against the 1st X1 on a hot and sunny day in June. Many more returned to watch and catch up with old friends. The Team included teacher and Old Kingswoodian Miles Thompson and it was his two early wickets, dismissing pupils Toby Eayres and Fred Stappard that put them in the driving seat.
Teddy helped to steady the ship with 30 before Archie Baker scored quickfire forties.
The Old Kingswoodians then impressed with some very clean striking and their superior match experience told as they chased the total for 5 wickets down. Archie Baker was named man of the match for his valuable all-round performance but beyond the result, this was a wonderful occasion, as so many Old Kingswoodians and former teachers returned to mark Mr Tim Reeman's retirement at the end of this term and reminisce about memories from their time at school.
The day served as a reminder of what sport, and in particular Kingswood, is all about and the fixture will now be renamed in Mr Reeman's honour.
