This Movember at Kingswood school we have set the target to raise over £3500 and move as a community 12,411 kilometres – the exact distance to Kingswood College in South Africa. Movember is a worldwide movement that has raised hundreds of millions to fund research, donating to health programs and build support networks for men who struggle with mental health. Globally 60 men die to suicide ever hour. Men’s mental health in society can be ignored with many people told to just “man up” when this should not be the case. Mental health is one of the leading causes of suicide for men as well as financial pressure and family issues. This is why we are running Movember, to support those who feel targeted by this stigma and raise awareness.

One of the most well-known parts of Movember is growing a moustache – something that starts conversations and grabs attention. But it’s not just about facial hair, you can get involved by taking on physical challenges like running, walking, or cycling to help fundraise. It’s all about coming together, getting involved in any way you can, and making a difference for men’s mental and physical health.
