In celebration of our 275 Anniversary, we have welcomed eleven artworks from the Methodist Modern Art Collection to be part of 'The Transforming Lives Art Exhibition - The Power of Art to Engage' at Kingswood.
On 18th April 2023, we celebrated the launch of the exhibition and listened to a fascinating talk by Professor Ann Sumner, Chair of the Collection and Kingswood Alumni. She spoke of the origins of the Collection, first housed at Kingswood in the 1960’s, and the particular significance of some of the most notable pieces. Revd. Katy, who selected the pieces on show, explained her choice, sharing the transformative experience of using art in prayer and reflection and said 'It was a lovely evening with a very enthusiastic response to the art'.
We would like to encourage our community to visit the exhibition, it will be on display until the end of term. If you would like to do so, please contact Rev Katy to make an appointment: kthomas@kingswood.bath.sch.uk
