Inspiring our Westwood pupils with the MiRo-E robot was Professor Emeritus David Lane CBE, a passionate scientist, innovator, educator and investor in the twin disciplines of Robotics & AI. David flew down from Edinburgh to be with us today, and in addition to his talk, he spent time in dialogue with our Computer Science teachers and students via Q&A sessions in sixth form CS lessons. David was Head of Upper House in his final year at Kingswood, completing his A Levels in 1976 before heading off to Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh to begin a fascinating career.
