Mark Brearey has taken the decision to step down as Headmaster of Kingswood Prep School in July 2027, after what will have been 16 years of dedicated service.During his tenure, Mark has made a tremendous contribution to the development of the Prep School and the wider Foundation, and we are deeply grateful for the leadership and care he has shown throughout his time as Headmaster.
We are pleased to announce that Helen Worrall, currently Deputy Head of Kingswood Prep School, has been appointed Head of Kingswood Prep School from September 2027.
The role attracted a very strong field of applicants, many of whom are current serving Heads. Helen stood out as the outstanding candidate throughout the highly competitive recruitment process, earning the unanimous support of the interview panel. Now in her eighth year at KPS, Helen is responsible for the day to day operations of the school, has held pastoral, safeguarding and teaching and learning leadership responsibilities at KPS, and has worked very closely with Mark Brearey to deliver a vision of excellence across all areas of school life. In a year’s time, Mark will hand the reins to Helen of a happy school, with wonderful staff and supportive parents. Helen graduated with an Honours degree in Russian Studies from Nottingham University, holds a Master’s degree in Education and has also completed the National Professional Qualification for Headship. Helen has extensive experience as a Senior Leader, and many know Helen for her warmth, care and drive to ensure each child receives the best possible education at KPS.
