We were delighted again to play host to a visiting group of American Methodist pastors and their partners on the Simpkins Wesley Retreat recapturing the spirit that formed the great Methodist movement.
They were welcomed to Kingswood, John Wesley’s School, by the Headmaster, Andrew Gordon-Brown, and chaplain, Rev Katy Thomas, in the School Chapel which this year celebrates its centenary. Andrew shared his reflections of his first 18 months in post and Katy presented a short history of Kingswood School. An English cream tea was enjoyed in the dining hall before a photo in front of the 1852 building was taken and our guests were bade farewell with happy memories of their visit and, of course, a pair of the exclusive Kingswood socks.
