We are looking for prizes of any denomination for the Raffle for our Malawi Market, can anyone help? Please contact association@kingswood.bath.sch.uk if you can.
Kingswood has been supporting charity projects in Malawi since 2004 which is when the first group of students went out to Open Arms in Blantyre. Every penny we raise goes to where it is needed most and none is lost in administration costs.
Open Arms is a charity which is entirely dependent on donations. There are two Transition Homes which provide shelter, nourishment & care to orphaned and abandoned infants.
· Phase 1—Looking after infants under the age of 2
· Phase 2—Providing Nursery Education
· Phase 3– Moving Children back into their own communities or into Foster Homes where this is not possible.
Outreach Programmes include supporting extended families, providing medical care and education in surrounding villages and helping to establish a village based industry
Since 2004 the Kingswood community has raised over £250,000. This amount of money goes a long way in Malawi and means we are having a positive effect on a large number of people’s lives. The whole school community support the events that we organise.
