Pre-Season Netball and Hockey
The pre-season Netball and Hockey sessions were well attended by all year groups even though it was one of the wettest!
The 1st XI boys went to the pre-season Cardiff Met tournament and had two good victories against Dauntsey’s and KES, scoring 13 goals in the two matches. Rob was in fine goalscoring form and Ollie, Will, Freddie and Finn all impressed on their debuts. On Saturday, Joe was the pick of the players against Canford. In what was an extremely competitive match, Kingswood could not turn their pressure into goals, particularly in the second half, so Canford ran out 2-0 winners.
The 1st and 2nd Netball teams played in tournaments, and both competed very well. It was a great way to try out different combinations and play some local rivals but also some other schools not on our usual netball circuit. The 1st team had three good wins against Canford, KES and Bryanston and narrowly lost to Marlborough. Lauren was outstanding at either end and showed her versatility! The 2nds won two out of four fixtures and a highlight was against Sherborne - well done to Sophia who was consistent all morning.
Thank you to all the staff who helped with these events during the last week of their holiday.
